1968 Raider 12 missing transaxle drain plug

First, I apologize if I missed a already existing thread about this topic.

 

I've been taking my raider apart and tipped it up to pressure wash all the grease off, and I noticed a open threaded hole in the bottom of the transaxle. I could only assume its for the oil drain. Can anyone confirm this and direct me in finding a replacement? I believe its a #5060 limited slip 10 pinon.

 Yes, that is the drain plug. Hopefully it didn't do any damage to it. There's nothing really special about it, just a 1/4" allen pipe plug.

Its number 65 in the IPL.

Use the "hollow hex" style shown, not the more common one with the protruding square. You want it to be flush with the Unidrive case....

@BdubRADR12  personally like a  HI MILAGE ATF  fluid for a flushing / cleaning agent , nave any  safe open road driving spots around you ? like a CUL DE SAC ? , like to put miles / time on that cleaning oil , also new shift boot . also when you drain that oil out  its good to lift up the front end , higher  off ground , couple of jack stands , safety , makes for more thorough  drainage . also like CLIMBING gear oil , read specs , 75x90 , easier filling with   shift boot removed , use every gear / range , also LUBRICATE  EVERY MOVEMENT LINKAGE  point , like penetrating oil first , make the rust run out , then aerosol red grease , take off shifter plate , and lube in there also , look for bronze end bushing areas , behind dash , make connections  work with ease , gold mine , pete

@oldlineman  thank you for that !   tend to go  well over the original intent , do not like the idea of a  SPOT FIX , typically there  are close related  movement areas , that lower console spot , bottom of  dash area is often neglected , and also filled with rusty binding connections  , to  improve on , another  GOLD MINE  of improvement  zone . the  lift lever  zone alone ,is  known for , sloppy connection , and no lubrication , when washered up and red greased , knock r loose, penetrant , related parts actually , function . all my trans oils are full and clean , being an old line man yourself , you know what a call in failure is like , you correct things , while you are in the area , coming back at 3 am , will make you do that , just talking , pete

Very helpful thank you, I also noticed today I'm missing the drive pulley key for the shaft keyway, what should I do about that?

You should be able to find both the plug (probably in plumbing fittings) & key in the Hillman drawers at your local hardware store or Tractor supply...
