Rebuilding 32@ mower deck on a 401

Hi

i have a question about this deck. The only info I see on this site is for a similar looking deck with an rounded outside edge bolted on. Mine is flat sheet metal but I think the same bearings apply. Someone had been in here before and replaced the bearings on the spindles with the wrong OD ones and shimmed them. I measure 1 5/8”OD x 3/“4 ID x 1/2” w. It appears the same bearings go in the cross shaft that powers the spindles as well. It appeared that they were sealed bearings with one side seal removed so the grease would get to them.
my question is under the top gears on the spindle shafts, there are two thin washers but I expected to see a flat bearing with small needles and a thin washer so I’m not sure if this is correct. Also, no washer under the spindles. I’d appreciate advice from someone who’s been there before

thx

I have that bearing...  it is part # 101480.  Measurements are 3/4" ID x 1-5/8" OD x 1/2" thick.  This is for the 32" deck...or 37" according to Toro schematics (pic attached).  Actually, I have two of them.  Exact same dimensions, but different part # on them is different....revised part#s from Toro are common.

This bearing lists at $44...  I can send one for $32...shipped.  OR--- both for $52...shipped. 101480.jpg.947de0f9020d1410af40724cf6f4bd5a.jpg2306661_bng101480(7).JPG.63212192f98fd7d7c47a1a609763f6ae.JPG

Is it a RMR-32 mower? Only 32" I am aware of other than the 1961 36" model RMR-3661 for the 701 that had flat end panels.

The rounded sides with 4 wheels would be the correct 1961 deck for a 401. Yours is probably an earlier deck from a 1960 or an RJ. Maybe this will help

@Maynard  just how I see it , what an OPPORTUNITY  TO CLEAN OUT AND RE GREASE A BEARING !  persomally like a small flat  putty knife  or a small flat pocket screwdriver  , removes those wide side  shields easily , wipe out existing grease , carb cleaner flush , lucas  x tra hd  chassis  grease , also POLYUREA  RATED ,  stays with the bearing  , 550  deg  flash point . done all my related bearing failure  areas with this  change over  , imagine  no bearing  WHYINE , rough spots  , unit turns easily by hand at pto drive belt start point , also did the related  MULE DRIVE BEARINGS ,  pto  drive  start , make a change to a  chronic  , problem . my pto engage ment , is very smooth , quiet  , easy ,  if you are a purest , you can,t do this , but a change  will make  make it better  , just my  personal  experience with mower decks , pete

Yes, I think it’s an rmr-32. That gives a nice clear schematic showing how the bearings are set up, as well as it not having a thrust bearing under the spur gear. I found a seller on Amazon that sells 5 of the bearings for $18 which is dirt cheap. Thanks for all the advice and the schematic link👍

Do your blades have the replaceable cutting tips on the end?

The RMR-32 schematic shows spindle bearings to be #101480...which replaces bearing #1515.  RMR-32.jpg.6e13c49b55b92b6e12302d3b13388b98.jpgRMR-32a.jpg.09ca6ef4fc9fd69268797be08be4217b.jpg
