I just submerged it in hot water and Dawn overnight. Then scrubbed and rinsed well. It really wasn't needed but I then lightly wiped it down with Mothers Back to Black.

@Racinbob nice build up ! been using the CARBOLE   MICRO ELECTRIC PUMPS  FOR YEARS , using the low pressure  2-3.5 psi , also added a fuel  check valve  , vertically  just before carb , so I can verify  fuel to carb hold . have set up on 3 horses , been very solid .  might even lay in a 5/16 steel brake line , inside of frame length , as fuel line , dramatically  cutting down on  fuel hose break down , debris . leaving only the short run to tank and carb , easily fitted . MOTHERS BACK TO BLACK ,  very good stuff . always experimenting with a change , for something  , pete
