Wayne0 741 #1 Posted Friday at 07:39 PM (edited) Can I just flip them instead of replacing them? And why are they special? Look like fender washers to me. Edited Friday at 07:40 PM by Wayne0

Ed Kennell 39,805 #3 Posted Friday at 08:20 PM (edited) Belleville spring washers are cone shaped to provide a constant spring load and friction to adjacent parts. Fender washers are flat. Edited Friday at 08:21 PM by Ed Kennell
Wayne0 741 #4 Posted Friday at 09:42 PM OK, Mine are flat. Probably replaced by the PO with fender washers. I'll order some real ones. Thanks.
lynnmor 7,495 #5 Posted Saturday at 02:14 AM The friction washers are harder than common fender washers. They are backed up with a Belleville washer to provide some adjustment range. You can flip the friction washers or grind them flat again.
Wayne0 741 #6 Posted Saturday at 12:55 PM Thanks, @lynnmor After looking at the parts diagram again, I see the spring washer is UNDER the cam plate which is why I didn't see it. I'll flip the flats and check the Belleville washer to make sure it's good. 1
