Red-Bovine 334 #26 Posted March 6 We bought on back in 2021. Opted for the glass windshield and wiper. Roof and glass were offered in black at the time. My hubby loves it. We dedicated this Toro Wheel Horse 520H ( repowered with Honda V twin in 2015) to snow removal and leave the cab and snow equipment on year around. 1

Fully enclosed cab with ABS Plastic Roof. Roof is Now Black, not White as shown in picture. The Lexan windshield can easily be replaced with the optional safety glass windshield, which is available for purchase separately. Forward inclination of the windshield minimizes glare and contact with falling snow and rain.

Red-Bovine 334 #29 Posted March 7 If you want the wiper option, get the glass windshield. Lexan will scratch from the wiper action. We went with glass and the windshield is fine.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,210 #30 Posted March 7 Many have an old 12 volt drill/screw gun that the batteries have expired on. Most just replace with another complete set so the old one gets tossed up on the shelf. I repurposed one powered by the tractor's 12 volts to turn the crank and is a bit fast but works great.

c-series don 9,374 #32 Posted March 7 It never bothered me having a black windshield frame and white roof, but seeing the black roof and windshield frame together makes me want to paint my roof!! 2
JCM 9,993 #33 Posted March 7 I'll second that black roof and windshield for mine. If you can find some info on prepping and painting I would consider that. I would be concerned about the paint not adhering to the white finish. I'd have to check mine to see if it has a pebble finish or smooth, can't remember. Thanks @c-series don

I almost forgot about it but I just saw it the other day. @JCM Yes Jim, I would be concerned about the paint not sticking. Especially over time. I’m not sure what I could wipe it down with to get it to stick? Can’t really sand it because it’s a textured surface.

If memory serves me correctly I scuffed it with a green scotch brite pad and painted it with this Rust-Oleum. Jim can probably tell you how it’s held up, he’s had it for a while.
JCM 9,993 #39 Posted March 8 Waiting for the verdict @WHX?? . How has your black painted OTC cab roof held up, yay or nay. @dclarke says you are the new owner ?

Would have never known it you hadn't mentioned it. At any rate it is holding up well but it is kept inside in the summer and in the lean to off the warehouse on hot standby in the winter. Guessing the sun would do the most damage. I added roof lights ... now that I never blow at nite ... and a custom inside control panel for them and the strobe ... we had less lighted switches on the submarine...
