Let’s hear the pro’s and con’s of the Terra Grip tire chains. I’ve been thinking of buying a set.

Had to look this up...you mean rubber chains.  They work I use them on one plow tractor that works the pavers area  (plastic blade edge also)  I did tear off one cross link  They need to be kept Tight as they try to get diagonal

for 96% of what I plow Steel works better

Pro; no driveway damage.

Cons; slides sideways easily, less grip on ice, rides rough and more difficult to install since the tires should be deflated to near zero.

I have a set of Terra Grips on one tractor and Softclaws on another one. Absolute musts on concrete or asphalt areas. On the first install I deflate the tires. I fit the chain to the tire and remove any extra links just because it makes for a clean install (spell OCD). Make sure the circular chains don't have any twists and I work the rubber cross links as tight as I can to the tire. Once reinflated it stays put and I never need to use spring tensioners. On the following reinstalls I do deflate again but it's never a guess as to which links I used. When removed in the spring I keep them straight and hang them on a wall to tagged to the particular tire they were fitted to. I did the same when I used steel in both 2 link and 4 link. Never had a floppy chain issue. One of the sets came with chain tensioners but they are still in the bag unused.

They do ride rougher but really no worse than 2 link steel. 4 link steel are a little smoother riding and that was my go to. You could add rubber links to make them 2 link but I don't think that would work well.  As far as traction I'd say as good as steel except for glare ice. I use the blade a lot in the summer for dirt and whatever in the woods. I was surprised to find the rubber were actually better on the sandy gravel we have. I thought I'd switch to steel in the summer but the steel haven't come off the barn wall for several years now. We used to have a railroad stone/slag drive. I didn't have the rubber at that time but I suspect the steel would definitely win on that stuff.

Terra Grips are somewhat heavier than the Softclaws making them more durable. I used the blade on the tractor with the Softclaws and they did show some minor damage. The dirt and woods use is much tougher on them than the snow. Terra Grips also use bolt in links which I like but I've never had the real need. It would be easy to drill out the rivets on the Softclaws if needed.

Terra grips left, Softclaws right. You can see a little bit of crosslink movement as they 'settle' in but they won't go any further than that.

I had a set on Case 220 that I used to use to plow the driveway, I thought they worked pretty good on level ground, but you do need to deflate the tires before you put them on. I don't have a need for mine anymore so I'd be willing to let them go if they are the right size for ya.

I have a set, work great unless you have a slope with ice. Great for not marking the driveway but I was doing a path for my dogs around the yard (small dog) after the first storm, melting created ice in the path 😔

Have them for sale, no interest

I did deflate my tires for mounting but still have had issues with the cross straps shifting.. As we all know not all 23 10.50 x12 tires are the same size....maybe mine are a bit undersized.
