Pete D 159 #26 Posted Wednesday at 03:43 AM (edited) So, I mentioned "the picnic table of knowledge" to my wife. (It kind of sounds like of the evening get-togethers at motorcycle meets I've been to.) She asked "is it guys only?" and ""can we bring the dog; does the hotel allow dogs?" She is not into tractors, but she's an awesome wife. We might grab a room so I can meet you all. (And our beagle is 25#, so ok with the hotel.) My spouse is not interested but I’ve met several who enjoy the event--and some that are active participants!

And I never mention anything about her spending money because I’m not sure what is going to happen on my end 🤣🤣 1
squonk 41,942 #30 Posted Wednesday at 01:37 PM (edited) The Year 2015 really started out with "The Tailgate of Knowledge" at the Old Comfort Inn. A few of us hung out after dinner at the motel behind the Late Phil Bowling's truck and he had this multi-fueled small engine in the bed. Aldon was there along with HHHOOOWWWAAARRRDDD and a couple of other guys. Next year was the " Customs" show so the boys from the Mid-West came. We hung around at the tailgate of @stevasaurus 's truck after dinner and talked transmissions. It was getting late and the conversations got louder and louder. I was expecting the to show up. Then the Comfort Inn moved across the street. So that year it was just me @stevasaurus and @rjg854 out at the tailgate. Then a lady emerged from the hotel who looked just like Steve's wife Chris but she wasn't Chris. She walks past us and Steve's like "Where the heck are you going? " Then we realize it isn't Chris! We had a good laugh. She was on her way to Mcdonalds to get her mom a burger. The following year it was just me and the Mexican Construction workers with their cases of Corona stacked 6 high under the canopy. The next night they had a big party going out back with the stereo cranked. Then the following year I think we had the big party with @Pullstart's camper out in the overflow lot. We prolly had close to 30 of us out there. We finally moved to the Quality Inn I think 3 years ago. They have the tables so the bull session moved to there for Thurs and Fri Night. Wednesday night is along the driveway of the car wash under @stevebo's NEW toy hauler. Edited Wednesday at 01:46 PM by squonk 1

Pete D 159 #32 Posted Wednesday at 05:18 PM I usually brought a bottle of tequila; some anejo as a rule. Others brought 'shine, and "apple pie", so we would get kind of loud, too! 😅 My wife, Donna, used to bring snacks. The pics you posted, @WHX?? remind me of some M109 meets I attended. Record turnout there was 100+, but these days it's 10 - 20. (2nd photo is my bike, btw.) Since I don't have a camper, and I'm getting too old to lay on the ground in a tent, I'll go the hotel route. That's the only way Donna would go, anyway. I guess I'll book a room for June 20th. 2

She tends to mess up the punch line or use the wrong punch line. You should make the reservation for June 18, 19 and 20, Too much BS to shoot it all in one night. 1

Maybe I'll use the 18th as an excuse to go out for a ride. 🏍️
