Big Show?

Recommended Posts

I've decided to make the 2200 mile round trip to the show after all these years:handgestures-thumbupright:. My wife said just do it, what else you got to do and that will give me a few days of you out from under my feet, damn I love that woman:music-rockout:. So where do most of you guys stay and do you think it's to late to make reservations?

Not too late. If you want to be rowdy, contact @squonk. If you want a nice quite place to sleep with free breakfast, try Sleep Inn. Book now. Rooms fill up quickly because there are a lot of things going on in and around Gettysburg that weekend.

Wow, the Biglerville show must be awesome.  I guess I'm lucky to live 30 minutes away.

Is that also motorcycle weekend?

Edit: Nope!  The 2025 Gettysburg Bike Week will take place from July 10–13.

Going to the Big Show is my birthday gift to my wife. Her birthday is on or about the time of the big show and she gets rid of me for four glorious days. One year we had a Wheel Horse Quartette of @stevasaurus, @squonk @Aldon and myself sing happy birthday to her over the phone.    :hide:

Quality Inn, Chambersburg, PA is where a lot of us stay.

Richard's wife was very lucky to hear that Happy Birthday rendition.  I only sing 2 songs with my voice..."Happy Birthday to You" and "This Little Light of Mine".  :banana-guitar::banana-guitar::banana-guitar::banana-guitar:

If you want noise, traffic, extra tourists running around, overpriced and packed restaurants, Harley dudes driving their bikes around the hotel at midnight, stay in Gettysburg.

If you want quiet, Picnic table of knowledge,  nice affordable restaurants and diners  irate truck drivers who want to vacuum out their trucks, and a visit from the Sherriff to check on said irate trucker, stay in Scotland(Chambersburg) Just about the same distance from the show. Easy drive

Bikers all night, not a problem, said "Picnic Table Of Knowledge" sounds interesting and as far as irate truckers my BIL was one for 25 years and my brother was for 22 years so been there done that on many occasions "Ain't Scared":snooty:. So where can I find this "Picnic Table Of Knowledge" I'm always up for some enlightenment.

I was thinking this might be my year for the trip also. Thanks for info. I could definitely use some "knowledge" Plan on making a week of it and seeing some relatives/friends along the way.

If you want a cheap place to stay you can always pitch a tent in my back yard.

Not sure how comfortable it will be.

How about dad jokes?  Do those qualify as "knowledge"?

I was planning to ask that, but I won't drink & drive.

Maybe if I ride my WH there...

Hey now.! Couple years back, I learned Waldo trained copter pilots during Nam.

And a few years before that, every thing about WH transmissions.

It can sometimes get a little more risque' than just dad jokes, but any comedy is ALWAYS good!

No matter what you bring or even if you don't bring anything, it's always a good time for everyone.

The tables are alongside the hotel. If you stay there, the only navigation is back to your room for the night. Snacks and soft stuff are all good too!
