Head bolts are a standard grade 8 with the correct extra thick washers. You just need to know the right sizes.
ebinmaine 69,970 #10 Posted February 17 I would actually say, unless you know for absolute sure how old the head bolts are, always replace them. Do not put in used head bolts.

Although one could argue the old metal is probably better. even having been stretched and heated already.

I no longer buy any nuts bolts or most other Hardware from any box stores or TSC or amazon. I've been buying nearly all of my Hardware from Bolt Depot in massachusetts. I can't say for sure that it is USA made. It is definitely a superior quality though. Pricing is excellent. Service is excellent.

I do a lot to challenge my mind and body on the daily. Im better at learning new business by doing or being shown. NOT U tub or facebag. Never drilled and tapped a head. Dad is around thankfully, and does not care about wrenching anymore. Retired M/E engineer I know no other humans that have that sort of knowledge. Well near me. Currently talking (actually literally speaking) to another human about a trade for a C120 auto or project C100. we will hammer it out. just details. I do enjoy the square. wish I could download some member/experience.

I started with Wheelhorses back in late '16 early '17 having almost no knowledge whatsoever. Since then our Herd and our knowledge has grown exponentially.
