Last night and today brutal wind nine degrees. That is good to have one of those Gen`s. You just never know when you will need it. Glade to hear this. Take care.
Handy Don 13,112 #53 Posted February 19 (edited) My sister & BIL live on the Tug Hill and she sent this picture this morning off the back porch. They’ve gotten 262 inches so far--the most ever (my BIL is a recorder for the national weather service). BIL is about 5’9" and he’s walking back to the house from the barn (blue arrow pointing to the barn roof which has been cleared twice already this year). Wayne0 744 #56 Posted Thursday at 12:03 AM Holy crap, you NY guys got slammed! We got 8" of snow then rain to make a crust. Unfortunately, I had to drive through it before I could clear the driveway. Betsy fell and broke a rib. Packed ruts from 3 trips in and out. Hit it today with the 520H deuce to get the top. Working now to scrape the bottom with Ole' Rusty with the plow. That Eaton 1100 kicks a$$. Chains and wheel weights on both, but still need weighted (filled) tires on them.
Pete D 175 #57 Posted Thursday at 12:06 AM I am so glad I no longer live in snow country. I think we've had 5" or so of snow this year (more than the last 2 or 3) across 2 "storms". You guys can keep it!

I have all this snow removal equipment and nothing to play with it in. 1
D_Mac 8,943 #59 Posted Thursday at 12:59 AM (edited) I live in western NY. I don't mind the snow, it's the wind and the cold I hate. Side note. We have got soft the past couple of years with the amount of snow that as fallen. We have gotten as much snow this year as we had the past 2 yrs combined. My 875 and my Husqvarna blower have had several workouts. I have to fill up my gas can again. Ethanol Free of course. Usually one 5 gallon can is more then enough. Not this year. oliver2-44 10,094 #63 Posted Thursday at 04:01 AM 18 here now, with 20mph wind gust. We,ve had a few snow flurries, but mostly dry or just damp feeling. Electric Grid holding up well, haven’t even had any flickers. Way to cold for this Texas guy.
Handy Don 13,112 #64 Posted Thursday at 07:21 PM The NY areas in the “lake effect snow belt” have been having a banner year, for sure, due to the higher wind velocities. The cross-country ski and snowmobile “mecca” in Osceola NY had to close for three days because the county’s plows couldn’t clear the roads fast enough for visitors to get there. Yeah, serious irony. Blasterdad 2,800 #65 Posted Friday at 01:15 AM Just got in from doing the driveway, 25 degrees f, about 6" of snow. It's supposed to quit snowing here for a while & gradually warm up. Waiting patiently to be let out... Free at last! After her workout, ready to be brushed down & put to bed....
