Hudson River valley got snow , then sleet, then all day rain.....it's a slushy mess but worse is trees are covered in ice and high winds coming 30..60 mph so warning for trees to be down then power outages...plowed 3 inches of slushy wet snow

Same here. Put the puppy out first thing and she just barked at the big honkin raindrops coming down. My older dog just went out and showed her how it's done.

Drive way was already like the surface of Maple Leaf Gardens. Now slop on top. Plowed as much as I could with HHHOOOWWWAAARRRDDD!!! No chains on him so I had to spread a bit of panther litter to get him out of the pile a couple of times. Needed to move the piles about 8 more feet so I had to get Elvis out with the 42" :wh: blade on the loader bucket. First time in 4 years I had to get him out for snow.

The temp has been in the high teens and low 20s since yesterday. We've been getting precipitation of the frozen kind most of the time since yesterday evening. Some snow. Some sleet.

Total new accumulation of maybe 5 inches??

Bottomed out at 0° and may not get beyond single digits today. Even though we got a bit more wet snow after I cleared it the asphalt took care of it and dried out before the temps dropped. Thankfully there's no need for seat time today. They are saying maybe the 40's next week. :handgestures-thumbupright:

@Racinbob  can relate , especially went after the  slight angle  I have  to release the built up water , to corner street deains , also always  plow with the sun , for  possible mid day  melting  , give that water  a place to go , once its starts  , it will show you the way . always back cut  your intended , clearing  , giving you  an easier  push , of plow , my mid afternoon  drive way , is dry  and slightly steaming . always  have a plow blade lubricant  enhancing  slide off , pam cooking  spray also works , back cut road edge on lawn  so road plowing  , from town  , clears entire road width ,  LED LIGHTS , FRONT / REAR , glowing  safety .  plow swing  smooth easy , have generator hooked up to house , ready for  wind branch outages , jn the calf hutch , pete

It's brutal out there today with the low temps and the high winds. All the rain yesterday and last night turned to ice.

We lucked out.  The 50 degrees and high winds dried everything off yesterday.    No ice this morning but cold and still blowing.     I'm trying to work up enough nads to go out and bring in another trailer load of firewood.      I worked my a$$ of for 50 years, so nothing left to freeze off.

Like our dear friend, I also need to wear suspenders to hold my pants up.

Hi Darb how have you been? How is winter treating you? Hoping we have a better March. Looking forward to spring.Take care and be safe out there on the farm.

Right now at 1:30 Monday afternoon we are getting hammered with wind after ten inches of snow then rain Sunday then five more inches of snow and high winds. Many power outages but luckily I still have power, you are probably getting much of the same. I've been doing good other than cabin fever .

My view out the back door yesterday. We got something like 5-6" of snow, which is no big deal after the last round.

My problem is the rain we got Saturday before the snow, with saturated frozen ground. Seeping water found a way in between the main house slab and the addition slab. Wife and I were up till about 5:30 am moving stuff, sopping up water with towels, sucking it up with the shop vac, and ripping out walls and flooring panels that were just installed last summer (after we thought all leaks had been found and fixed).  So now we're waiting for examinations and estimates from foundation experts to see what needs to be done and how much it will cost (and/or how much digging I need to do). :ranting: :crying-yellow:

Winters at our age are getting harder. I try and stay busy in the garage most days moving this around putting this here now I have two feet now what can I put there. Stay safe spring is coming. Do you have a generator?

This is up "Nort" of me near the Tug Hill Plateau. Not too far from where my friend Bruce who sets up at the Steam Pageant lives!

I live very close to where the filming is done (I was in the Drovers arms a few weeks back)

Yes I have an automatic backup generator, we didn't lose power just a lot of flicking off and on. Last night and today brutal wind nine degrees.
