OEM 6 3/4 PTO clutch disc fitting

Recommended Posts

pascal Plancke

Hello,

My Wheel Horse C160 is fitted with a 12HP Kohler engine.

I am currently dismountling it to do a complete overhall.
The clutch seems not to be genuine TORO 6 3/4  PTO Clutch disc as the friction disc is fitted with rivets onto the round plate.

As the wear is important  and the surface level is near to the rivets heads, i have bought a replacement friction disc (no drilled ).

Question 1: what kind of drill / foret do you recommand?

Question 2: although fixed with rivets, do i have to glue the friction disc onto the iron plate?

Question 3: what type of glue would you forsee?

Thank you in advance for your support

Regards

Pascal

You don’t need to install rivets. I used a gel super glue.

@pascal Plancke  would also look over how easily the  PTO  to  driven point  , moves by hand , typically  its bearing failure drag that eats up a  clutch ,  squealing / screaming on engagement , is telling you  of collective drag  that the clutch is tyring to overcome . I  also  always feed in my  PTO lever  easily , slowly sensing its  movement  engagement . have 3 0f those  tractors set up the same way . found that area , to be  a  good improvement spot , pete

I used JB Weld.

Sandblast or use 80 grit. Clean with lacquer thinner. Glue with JB Weld Original.
