Cutting the steering wheel shaft off?

I have an angle grinder and a reciprocating saw, no torch, which would you use to cut the rod or other suggestions?

Reciprocating saw with a good quality, brand new, fine toothed metal blade.

Variable speed at the lowest setting at least to start, would be best.

All of the above and ...

well clamped shaft to prevent vibration or movement and a solid stance and hold on the tool by the user.

I'll vote for the angle grinder with a 0.060" cut off disc.  I cut everything from 14 gauge to 1" steel.   But I am a left handed odd ball.

I'll add that it helps to keep the foot of the recreating saw firmly held to the work.

Ah, @Ed Kennell is a fellow lefty.  We're in our right minds, you know.

I eat LH, write RH (likely beat into submission by well intentioned teacher) , use a hammer either hand, I tried to learn Banjo RH but probably should have learned LH.  LH, RH,LH--whichever one I use to pick something up I probably use that hand.

I was never popular when neighbor kids wanted to play base ball.  I throw left handed but because no one had a glove for lefthander, I had to remove baseball glove before I could throw. No long term affects have been noticed though
