National Poop Day takes place annually on the day after Super Bowl Sunday, and is on February 10 this year. It’s a fun day to celebrate and educate ourselves about the importance of our body’s natural functions, especially our excretory and digestive systems.

National Poop Day was created in 2016 during a Polling Place election at the Madison Children’s Museum. The children passed a referendum to allow for the celebration of National Poop Day. The day is meant to celebrate and explore one of the most vital functions of the human body.

The word ‘poop’ is said to be derived from the Indo-European word ‘pu’, which is linked to the words, ‘putrid’ and ‘putrefy’. Poop has been given a number of names over the years, ranging from feces to excreta, to droppings.

After a meal, it takes about four to six hours for the stomach to be emptied of food. However, it takes an average of 36 hours for food to pass through the colon so considering the abundance of food consumed during the super Bowl the holiday should probably be move to the third day rather than the day after.

Being involved in the Plumbing trade since 1971 every day is poop day to me. Not the cleanest way to make a living but I have enjoyed making a real good living all these years and still work part time.  It's not all dirty and there are jobs that don't require dealing with poop. After all I have WH tractors to feed. Was not aware of this celebration.

I'll just add a muppy and a do-do.    I'm sure some classics will follow.

You’d think that poop day would immediately follow fart day!  After 30 years old, you can’t trust a fart!  Maybe after National fart day should be National new britches day?  I’m too pooped to poop thinking about it, but 36 hours?  Really?  I know that there’s no possible way that angry little Mexican I ate for lunch yesterday is still shooting off his 6 gun and bouncing off the walls inside me!

*edit*. @SylvanLakeWH had to tag you buddy so you could effectively find another visual you wished you hadn’t!

Much like the EPA average gas mileage estimates, the time between entrance through the upper orifice and exit through the lower orifice my vary depending on your eating habits and the amount of bacteria hiding in your food.            :ychain:       Whatcha think @SylvanLakeWH, is that a good enough explanation?
