ebinmaine 70,233 #76 Posted March 17 Another accomplishment yesterday that I was pretty happy with. Late last year/early winter, I was able to do one single push-up but it was a massive effort and there were days when I just could not get a second one. Yesterday I did EIGHT. 3

When I was in PT for my rotator cuff repairs last summer, they had me trying to do pushups off a counter height table. 10 of THOSE was my limit, and now, after more body breakage, I'm back to zero. Maybe, eventually. Your progress is impressive!

Follow your PT's advice (as I'm sure you already have) and you'll get back there... and better. 6 hours ago, kpinnc said: Congratulations and well done! I was doing the standard accepted calorie reduction. It was..... slow .....and stopped. Intermittent Fasting is an absolute game changer. STOP 🛑 ALL added sugars and any snacking. ALL of it. Eat real food twice per day. It takes a few weeks for most of us to get to a 16 to 19 hour daily period of no caloric intake. Don't rush that process. It isn't as simple as "just skip breakfast" for most people. I had to relearn my eating (grazing) patterns. FYI: Breakfast is NOT "the most important meal of the day". That's absolute hogwash. Literally an advertisement. Nothing more. Fasting is perfectly safe - and in fact highly advisable - for nearly everyone. Especially Type 2 diabetics and Pre diabetics. It can actually help reverse and eliminate those. Fasting also helps eliminate the loose skin of lost weight by autophagy. There are many more benefits....
ebinmaine 70,233 #86 Posted Thursday at 11:41 AM 272.6 - 256.1 = 16.5 lbs lost. I've slowed my weight loss pace some for a couple weeks very much on purpose. I need to rebuild my metabolism a bit. Speed things up so I burn more later. This weekend is moving time for Trina's Momma and we still have to finish up the apartment. We'll be extraordinarily busy even for us. I need energy. I need food. Still doing the Intermittent Fasting periods every day. Varying times from 12 or 13 hours up to 17 or 18. In a few days I'll start increasing those lengths again. Within a couple weeks I want to do more OMAD. One Meal A Day. And also more longer fasts. They're incredibly effective for regeneration of body systems and tissues. The lack of available energy is tough but otherwise I feel GREAT during 24+ hour fasts. My initial goal was/ is 1.5 lbs per week loss. 📉 I've been outpacing that quite well. There are 9 1/2 weeks left til Memorial day. I have 7.5 lbs left to drop. Barring unforeseen silliness that should be easily attainable.
CCW 1,321 #87 Posted 21 hours ago @ebinmaine You made me get on the scale this morning after traveling all of January and another week in March. Traveling is the worst for me with weight gain as I always eat too much while on the road. Gained twelve pounds over the last two months and today is "get serious" day. That is my mantra in the morning while I avoid eating until 11:00 a.m. This is the only way I successfully lose weight.

Exactly what you're doing by delaying breakfast. Note that I did not say "skipping breakfast". Technically speaking, that's not possible. Whatever the next thing is you eat, breaks the fast. Please do keep us posted. And do your best to drop the sugars.

I dropped all alcohol for all of January and then about mid February stoppednit again until maybe a week ago. My particular case I'm just trying to eliminate the unnecessary calories and add proteins. I'm certainly looking forward to having a particular coffee flavored drink in a few weeks.
