Dogs are very smart. :hide:

One cause of friction in our household is when I go down to the basement to get tools/parts and leave the door at the top of the stairs ajar knowing I'll have my hands too full when I come up to turn the knob. If while I’m down there my spouse walks by, she will “helpfully” fully close the door.

I've resisted putting lever-style passage latches on that door because we often have small children as visitors and those are too easily operated. Now, aiming for domestic tranquility. I’m going to see if I can get a hybrid set--knob outside, lever inside.

Was it me I'd yell with vim and vigor that l needed assistance. Then when she showed up she can RE open the door.

The BBT has a "thing" for closing cabinets. ...even if I'm in the middle of doing something completely silly like putting away dishes or food.
