Dogs are very smart. :hide:

One cause of friction in our household is when I go down to the basement to get tools/parts and leave the door at the top of the stairs ajar knowing I'll have my hands too full when I come up to turn the knob. If while I’m down there my spouse walks by, she will “helpfully” fully close the door.

I've resisted putting lever-style passage latches on that door because we often have small children as visitors and those are too easily operated. Now, aiming for domestic tranquility. I’m going to see if I can get a hybrid set--knob outside, lever inside.

Was it me I'd yell with vim and vigor that l needed assistance. Then when she showed up she can RE open the door.

The BBT has a "thing" for closing cabinets. ...even if I'm in the middle of doing something completely silly like putting away dishes or food.

Some years ago I made up my own back door set, knob inside, lever outside.
When it had a lever on the inside, our dog learned to open it and run off.
These days I only have to deal with the Grand-Dogs.

We realized that our older grandchildren are very generous sharing with their younger kin how to open doors leading to interesting places!

We have one that has figured out how to open most baby gates.

And most of the ones he can't open he can jump. Even the extended height ones.

A recent thread reminded me that Lassie was able to communicate that Timmy had fallen into a well, where the well was, and to bring a ladder and rope to rescue him! :)

I have the same problem. Multiple trips to the garage. Out door projects I throw everything I can think of into a dump cart. Indoor projects are another story as a tractor won't fit thru the door!

I decided to widen this thing out so I could tow it behind a tractor if I need to. No sense dumping my tools all over the yard. Might look a little silly but I made it this way on purpose. The front axle pivots like a wheel horse axle. I'll probably swap the spindles for some longer ones since some dummy cut them too short to begin with.

And 12 degrees looks to be about right on the camber.

Ran out of paint, so this is it for tonight.

I have a red one like that, it has all Wheel Horse wiring in the drawer. I pick up a 2by4 two short pieces across the upper tray flat and two long ones up right  down each side and added a 3/4" plywood top.

Brought it up to almost level with handles. made the top tray useless, guess it could be hinged with a latch. made a good working surface.

Got a little more done today. Made up the steering parts. Added a return spring on the handle. So far so good.

Finished the handle up tonight. Also got the spindles worked out. Just gotta wait for the (ugly) paint to dry so I can assemble it.

I made the handle to work in the hand or on the back of any tractor. Angled the grip up so it sits high enough for my big self to stand up straight.

Finished pics tomorrow. Paint is drying slow in the garage...
