C101

Recommended Posts

Sam4062

Recently acquired a c101, came from a friend that his father in law had stored in a barn since new, as in he never even started it to anyone’s knowledge. It came with a new deck too but doesn’t fit the tractor. I did get it started with non ethanol fuel. Ran for maybe 5-10 mins no more then half throttle and moved through the gears. Everything worked as it should, shut gas off and let it shut off on its own to drain carb. Question is are these tractors sought after? I really don’t have a use for it other then pulling a roller and maybe a small sprayer but have other machines for those purposes. Thanks for any advice

I hear that,  Mt Davis,  the highest elevation in Pa.    My sister lives in Sand Patch and they still have plenty of snow.    We had 45F temps for the past few days so our snow is almost gone.

c-series don

Well wouldn’t you know that the C-101 is the only one of the 1978-79 C-Series that I don’t own? I have all the rest…………….

@Sam4062 Welcome aboard, from another Pennsylvania guy! :text-welcomeconfetti:

Any chance you could send us a photo or two (we all like pics)?  And are you sure the deck doesn't fit?  A photo of that might help, too.

Absolutely.

Wheelhorses are fantastic machines.

That's a GREAT looking tractor.

If you became a Supporter the pic limit is gone.

You can also reduce the size of pics.

Judging by the above pics it appears that you may have a not often seen level of originality in that particular tractor.

My advice is to be VERY careful and consider ALL options before taking ANY offers of purchase.

Even in the garden tractor world there folks with questionable motives that will attempt to downgrade and lowball you. I've had it happen personally.

You've landed on a site with predominantly wonderful members.

Me personally... I'd keep that as long as possible and give it an easy working career. As it was meant to be.

Wow beautiful tractor!!

And I agree with EB you got a fairly rare tractor as in it was almost never used. Especially a 70's tractor so it is worth a bit more. That said it's not going to be anything crazy.

Definitely make a great show tractor .

You found the correct forum to help you out.  That's a great looking tractor.  What a find.  It should go to a good home if you get rid of it.

We're practically neighbors.  We took the Scouts to Mount Davis a couple months back before biking from Meyersdale through Cumberland.

I’m more of a hoarder then a seller lol, but I have no use for this tractor especially in this kinda condition, I have several other tractors from 18-48hp that do the work I need done. I’m not looking to rip someone off nor do I wanna haggle to rid tractor and mower, honestly I’d like to see someone get this that appreciates it for what it is being rare. As far as I know the only things missing is the actual air filter(not the round cover I have that) and a battery. What kinda ballpark would I be in price wise for this? Thanks yet again for all the advice

My guess would be $1000 but there are some far more qualified people then me that can get you a more accurate value.

And it's only ever worth as much as someone is willing to pay.

Prices vary widely,  regionally.

Up here I would start higher.
