Retired Wrencher 5,572 #1 Posted January 26 I never had this happen before. As you see when engine is not running I have full motion but when running I do not get full throttle when the engine starts up. Not sure how to adjust the governor? Any ideas? Thanks in advance. wallfish 17,147 #2 Posted January 26 Loosen the throttle cable clamp so the conduit can slide. Set throttle knob to full. Start the engine. Pull throttle cable so engine runs at full speed 3600 RPM. Tighten cable clamp
wallfish 17,147 #3 Posted January 26 (edited) The only thing not shown in that is the important stuff like the throttle cable hook up. You could also slide the throttle cable conduit in the clamp with the engine not running. With the knob set closed at idle, slide the cable back out just until the governor opens the carb butterfly all the way. When it starts, the gov will instantly close the carb back to idle. Then pull the knob to wide open and check full throttle speed Edited January 26 by wallfish
peter lena 8,957 #4 Posted January 26 @Retired Wrencher https://3inone.com/product/3-in-one-fast-acting-penetrant/ been adding this to all my cabeling runs , like to remove end connection , and start a total lubricated slide effect , if it sounds like a hack saw blade on a rusty bolt , thats what you want , then go to all related linkage connections and lube areas , typically found just minor tweaking insures , total function . BTW ,have had , light extension springs , on my cable connection points for years , ? think about it , always have a lubricated spring assist to any related swing point , tiny holes in related spots , and a perforated metal , screw on tag , makes spring assist , very easy , very simple to use the same theory , on your situation , you can't push a cable , but you can pull it , pete
