Thanks for the info. Problem now is it keeps blowing that fuse. When I push the throttle the fuse blows. The Amp meter is not in the middle but over to the right. Over charging. Once the fuse blows engine remains running but lights go out and Amp meter goes out. Engine will shut off with the key but you won't be able start it again until fuse is replaced. If you let engine run at idle speed the fuse won't blow but Amp meter still high. Voltage regulator ?

Yes, probable.

A fuse blows from too much current flowing through it--either because the voltage is too high or there is something sucking current.

Hook up a voltmeter to see what the output from the stator is looking like.

After it’s been running for a while at idle, look for any warm connection points that would indicate juice going into making heat!

Thanks guys. I haven't spent much time looking at it for a couple of reasons.

1) The weather hasn't been cooperating. I have to work on it outside.

2) I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm not a very good mechanic and even a worse electrician.

The good news is I have a potential buyer saying he wants to come Saturday to see it. I explained this issue to him he seemed to only be interested in the rear end. Fingers crossed he shows up and takes it home with him. If not I have another project for the spring / summer time.

Anyone know what this part is ? Also notice how PO has wire twisted.

Well I sold it this morning. New owner was happy to have it. I told him all that I knew about it. He has a plow for it and plans on plowing his driveway with it. He said his dad had one years ago. On to the next.
