Actually if a fellow was to  keep his thumb over the spark plug hole and hooked the spark plug wire to your pinky, it might fire up! :angry-screaming:

Ask @Pullstart :scared-shocked:

1520279196_IMG_34211.jpg.35102b187b57ed4ff3e70dcbaab0acd7.jpgwell got some time on it and get nothing.. I'm sure a big issue on why is the fact that the ignition switch is shot. Have a new key switch ordered and then will get the wires run to it IMG_3421[1].HEIC

Starter should be here tomorrow. Not knowing how long this Sat is there anything that should be done re-test? I did add a small amount of oil in each piston and manually spun the motor but not sure if there’s anything that should be done with pumps. Thanks

First signs of life. New switch and starter on now and got her to fire with a little gas in the carb :greetings-clappingyellow: now to drain the tank change the oil and get her running for real. Need to find what battery it needs because my spare doesn’t have the kick to it.

Any fluid and filter recommendations would be great. Thanks

Ive started these on 145cca batteries with temps in the 60s without any real drama, 275cca would be more comfortable, but the 145cca did it fine.

Its alive. Using a bottle of gas and some starter fluid I got it running. Runs smooth and strong so now for the real work

Found a couple issues - rotted fuel lines, no hydro fluid so need to find out what type of hydro fluid to get.

Also notice that there is a 2nd blank area for a hydro lift on the dash.. is there an optional 2nd hydo control for this?

I’m in need of a cure. Still going through the first D and in my crazy head I bought a D200. Hope to get that one in a couple weeks so I’ll be living with monsters.

Got the electric fuel pump instealled and got it to start and run,, for 2 min's and then died and wasn't able to get it running again. Pulled the plugs and the right was wet and left dry neither looked bad but will replace these tomorrow. slowely we'll get her going.. Really tempted to find a rebuild kit for the carbs and just go ahead and get that out of the way..

Finally was able to pick up a spark plug tester and the only spark I am getting is when I first turn on the key, after that nada. Will first double check all the wires to make sure things are connected. I am guessing it may end up being a coil but open to other ideas.. thankjs

Make sure you're getting a consistent 12v to the + side of the coil, with 12v power, the ignition module pulses a ground signal to the - side of the coil to create the spark.

I'm only guessing because I don't know if you have an Onan or Kohler engine.  It would help if you included the year and engine when discussing ignition issues so we don't have to go back thru all of your posts.

If you have an Onan, download the Onan Service Manual and do the troubleshooting of the ignition module.

Sorry didn’t catch I never added that. It’s a 73 18 automatic with the kohler. I downloaded the manual for the engine and will print it out today

Sorry crossed threads multitasking too much. Sorry. The 520 issue did turn out to be a valve seat. Not t sure if I’ll go have that fixed or not. Now I also picked up 2 new projects. 73 18Automatic and a D200. Sorry again about crossing the post

In that case you can test the coil about the same way, the coil gets 12v through the + side; and the points ground the - side to create spark
