Seems like the most impossible things to find a reliable source of parts for my 753. All I’m looking for the 1 inch wheel bearings, and seals. It’s hard to ask for things nowadays without a specific part number and that I’m not sure of. I think my Transmission is a 5025, and I’m looking for a 1530 needle bearing for the left side of the Transmission case.

We're all born with no knowledge and figure it out as we go.  Ya just need to know who to ask.

Finding this site is a great step.

For the outer bearings and seals we have a chart in the transmission section.

For the inner bearings my personal recommendation is to CALL Lincoln at A to Z Tractor in PA.

His contact info is in our Vendor section.

Rick - Welcome.

Used 4 speed Unidrives can be found at decent prices, probally not too easy in Texas.

DO take the time to disassemble & clean all the parts - if one axle bearing is toast, the other might be right behind it ready to fail. Any metal chunks come out in the drained oil???

So, as I see it, you are looking at a minium of a case gasket, 4 seals, a bearing, a shifter boot, and 2 quarts of 70-90 gear oil....

Did the shifter ever get stuck in 2 gears at once ??? The 1965 and later Unidrives came with the fix from the factory - flats on the sided of the shift fork shafts to reduce "sticktion"

Going this route also requires several related parts.

Depending on what implements are being used, a swap to a later 6 or 8 speed is rather straight forward....

:text-welcomeconfetti:from another Texan. Then again Amarillo is about as far north from me and still be Texas as one can get.
Tell us a little history of how you got your horse.
As previously mentioned, at the top of the Transmission Section there are charts listing the bearings and seal numbers for each type of transmission.
Aldo I think it’s called the Instructional Section there are videos documenting disassembling/reassembling each type of transmission. The 3/4 speeds are fairly easy.

You are correct in that your transmission is a 5025. Since you're going to have it open you may want to do the shift rail and stop pin upgrade per service bulletin #60. The flats as already mentioned help with the shifter issue but isn't a positive stop. The upgraded rails not only have the flat but a deeper neutral detent. Used with a longer stop pin it's a mechanical stop and doesn't allow the shifter to lock up in two gears. :)

bearings and seals are available on the internet - I've just replaced bearings and seals on a 5025 here in the UK

Lane Ranger

Back ten or 12 years ago you could buy a Lawn Ranger for $150 to $250. because people thought they were big enough or whatever.

However they had the Wheel Horse 5025 transmission!

You could also buy those transmissions for about $50.

I bought them as I found them to be in better shape then those used on the bigger tractor models with bigger motors etc.

They were generally not abused.
