Raider 12

Recommended Posts

Epayne85

Hello all, I have a Raider 12 I believe to be a 1970. The deck that came on the tractor is in rough shape and I’d like to either fix it or find one in better shape for next mowing season. If any one has the model # of the deck that would be greatly appreciated!! There is no serial tag on the deck that I have found!

Could you post pics of the deck you have and also the front of the frame of the tractor?

I certainly will when I get home, it’s a 3 blade deck mid mount if that helps. It’ll be a week or so before I’m able to get pictures

This manual will show you what will directly interchange on your :wh:.  If you add a mule drive to the front of the Raider you could use newer decks too.

This is why I wanted a picture.

I agree.  Add a later type mule and you'll really open up the possibilities.

Actually he has a front mule drive.  The very first mule drive was a short lived item.  It had a big steel plate on the front which has been removed from his. Do not believe the lack of a plate changes the functionality.  Look at these pics an envision the big plate removed.

With that newer mule drive you can use a bunch of different decks over a broad year range.

Hard to verify from the pic, but I think he'll need to get a belly hitch to use Tach-a-matic decks.

Is your deck a 36" width of cut?

Found some of the applications for this idler assembly.

Models 5-7365, 5-7366, 5-0600 and 5-0601 are 36" rear discharge decks.

Models 5-0710 and 5-0711 are 36" side discharge decks.

If a replacement deck can be found one using blades with a 3/4" center hole would be a bonus. The 5/8" x 3/4" double-D hole blades may not be available.

It’s a side discharge, I’m almost certain it’s a 36” being it has 3 blades

Chargers were hydro transmissions. Raiders were manual 6-speed transmissions.

Ok, thank you. I found a charger that looked like my raider just wondering if parts were interchangeable amongst the two tractors?

The mowing deck should be.

Implements usually swap from manual to hydro just fine.

The tractors have some interchangeable parts like engine,  frame,  hood, fender.

The transmission tunnel/ steering tower  is different.
