Tea Time

The perfect time for a cup of tea is National Hot Tea Day, on January 12. Tea has been in our cups since as far back as the 2nd century B.C. Originating in China, tea has grown to become the second most consumed beverage in the world, after water. This delicious blend of spices energizes, detoxifies, relaxes, and does so much more.

Tea is definitely our national drink here in England. 

Just having my third or fourth cup of the day. The kettle never goes cold from morning till night. 

There is a whole debate over here about whether you are a MIL or a MIF.... milk in last or milk in first. History tells us that milk was put in first by posh folks (tea was out of reach of most people for many years) who were using fine China cups. They thought the hot tea going into a cold cup would fracture it, so the milk went in first to lessen the thermal shock.

But I prefer to put the milk in last so that you can see how strong it will be. Also, if you put your teabag in the cup to brew then putting milk in with it stops the bag from mashing properly. 

On strength, we have builders tea, which is so strong and brewed that you can stand your trowel up in it lol.

We now have decaff tea, but buy it from a door to door sales company who've been in business for a couple of centuries. Good quality is worth paying a bit more for. 

So, enjoy your coffee or Joe or whatever you call it. I will stuck with a good old cuppa and a couple of biccies.

I drink nearly a gallon of tea each day.  Decaffeinated and cold.   I make it pretty weak though in the scale of things.   I don’t add sugar, sweetener, or lemon.  
 

Generally it’s just grocery store teabags, but occasionally I’ll mix with something more interesting. 
 

I’ve never been able to understand drinking any beverage hot.  Coffee, tea, cocoa…gotta be cold. 
 

my wife’s grandmother was English and when home was always sipping a little metal cup of tea.  She took hers with milk - which i think she added last - which to me made it totally unpalatable.  Of course because she knew something about how tea was done properly, she wasn’t a fan of my method.  😎

I have a cup of hot tea and a snack about 4:00 PM each day, I will be away from the internet for a while as it has steeping for a few minutes. It is nearly tea time.

Haha all joking aside, I drink mostly tea as well. Mostly sweet tea, but I also drink some hot tea as well.

I like both--coffee in the morning and decaf English Breakfast tea in the afternoon and evening (like right now!)
