Driving through the Chanceford Crossing development you couldn't help but notice that many of the cars had Md license plates and still do today. The development was renamed Little Baltimore by the locals. Sorry, were again. I think that the concern about outlawing internal combustion engines versus battery power is on topic. If we try to keep it in that narrow area there shouldn't be objections.

C-85 Ok now you are just showing off haha, 2000ft-lbs of torque, pretty sure that would break off any bolt on wheelhorse. But I bet if you work on heavy equipment that would be sweet!

C-85 I'm guessing it doesn’t run on batteries?! We’ve all heard of Edmunds -- yes, the car reviews and more company. I happened across this article a while back and found it pretty eye-opening. Despite no batteries tested, only ICEs, I think it is on topic. 1

That article isn't surprising after I watched an episode of Mythbusters that proved driving an average car is FAR more environmentally friendly than an average motorcycle with an engine that's a fraction of the car's size. 3 hours ago, Easton Rich said: I'm cheap, and I guess this is what sets me apart yall...... That's a lesson I've learned too many times. 😬🙄
Ed Kennell 39,254 #36 Posted Monday at 12:19 PM Battery Impacts ? Should we start the debate on the Battery impact on the environment? Start with the 500,000 pounds of ore mining that is required to extract the 70 pounds of lithium required for one EV battery. 2

Anyone ever work in a mine? It not very environmentally friendly.
rjg854 11,579 #38 Posted Monday at 02:45 PM That's the part nobody wants you to understand, not to mention what happens when the batteries are no longer any good, it's impact on the environment.
SylvanLakeWH 26,159 #39 Posted Monday at 03:21 PM I've mentioned before that I have all Dewalt 20/60 V hand, lawn and snow products. Accumulated as needed. Lawn Mower Snow blower String trimmer Pole saw Chain saw Pruning shears Hedge trimmer Drills Impacts Sawzall Flashlights Circular saw Went this route for single battery interchangeability. All functional beyond expectations for my needs as a suburban homeowner. Extremely convenient and quiet. Zero maintenance. Are they "green"? No. As noted above, batteries ain't green. Are they "greener" than 2-stroke equivalents? Maybe, probably, I don't know... I do know you can't get energy for nothing... and I love the ease of use for me and Mrs. Sylvan.

Skating on the edge of this topic and the forum guidelines, I’ll only observe that any change of significance driven by any force over which an individual feels that they lack control or understanding (be it economics, government, religion, science, medicine, you name it) is disruptive and suspect. On top of that are the fears or worries about the real or imagined motives of those promoting the change (e.g. profit, political control, conformity, class superiority, even benevolence!) and the impacts those might have on the individual’s chosen lifestyle. The world is an immensely complicated and interconnected place few if any of us really grasp. Just this morning I read of Chinese textile workers laboring 10-12 hours per day with one day per month off just to make ends meet. Who benefits? Global consumers paying $8 for a tee shirt or $15 for a pairs of slacks and the entire supply/delivery chain. For some intelligent insights in to the battery vs. fossil conundrum, I’ve found some episodes of the first two seasons of this podcast both informative and discouraging. I do like my battery tools the only free energy is standing in the sun to get warm on a cool day, or standing in the cool breeze when it’s hot. Probably more just can’t think of them now
