Did you know that there are more than 60 different species of eagles in the world? rjg854 11,624 #3 Posted January 10 The pair that were out back of the house only came and checked on the nest a couple of times late Fall and early Winter. Never fully returned though. They must have used that nest 5-6 years. But not this year, miss seeing them every day. They only seemed to use that nest in the Winter, didn't see them much in the summer. JimSraj 456 #4 Posted January 10 Very happy to say that their presence here in the Lehigh Valley has been increasing for the past 15-20 years. I don’t ever remember seeing them here when I was growing up but now sitings are not uncommon and nesting pairs can be found. Ed Kennell 39,430 #5 Posted January 10 Conowingo, Holtwood, Safe Harbor, and York Haven dams are all good sources of food for the Susquehanna River eagles. I live about 10 mile from the river and have many nests in the area. When possible, I pick up road kills and place them in areas where it is safe for the wildlife to feed. The eagles love to follow the train that we use to stock trout from in the spring. The golden trout are easy pickings. 4 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Bar Nuthin 853 #7 Posted January 11 The first time I went fishing in Canada, back in the mid '80s, was the first time I ever saw a bald eagle. We all thought it was a spectacular moment. I work next door to an ethanol plant and they sit and watch over all rodent activity that happens there. I have been lucky enough to see them hunt and lucky enough to see them for days straight.
