WHX??

Last I talked to him he did not have any in 44". but was considering adding them which he may have done. Best to call find out I'm sure his 48 might work ... call him.

You'll be hard pressed to find a used one in decent shape. Try putting an add in wanted never know.

@fishdoktor  https://www.google.com/search?q=wheel+horse+plow+%2C+sliders&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS866US866&oq=wheel+horse+plow+%2C+sliders&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQIRigATIHCAIQIRigATIHCAMQIRigATIHCAQQIRigATIHCAUQIRigAdIBCTIxODc5ajBqNKgCALACAQ&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8  might consider adding a couple of these on the lower corner edges of the blade , would also spring mount them , so you have a  softer  drag effect , letting you dial in a better  drag / slide point . my driveway , is short , and gets sun , later , so I just favor that  plow to point , sun does the work , just  keep refilling it . pete

WHX??

@Achto and I made some for a plow blade. I think they were 48" . I needed one for a single and I cut one down. About two inches off each end & most of the holes lined up I think I had to drill two new holes. Instead of having square holes for carriage bolts we just used button heads.

Have any of you tried using a "hard rubber or hard plastic" for your snow blowers?  Plenty of info on plows but I'm unaware on blowers.

I can't speak for everyone else but my driveway has slight contours, so I set the skids about 1/2" below the edge. Works fine but it's real easy to end up with ice. Perhaps a more "flexible edge" might solve the problem, unless they wear too fast.

Thanks.

Anything that will flex is also going to wear. Pick your poison.

My son just put an HDPE scraper on his snow dozer blade. Lots quieter; no scrape marks on the drive and walks. He points out that it is thicker (¾”) so he needed new bolts, and not as rigid as steel so he sandwiched it between the blade body and the old scraper edge so it wouldn’t bow between the bolts. Also initially, the rear corner was hitting the ground first allowing the front corner to be off the ground by about 3/16 of an inch--that caused a thin layer of snow to get packed down under the scraper edge. He thinks once the back corner wears down it’ll be fine.

@WHX?? nice blade set up , glairing to me  ?  dry rusty blade , a  lubrication soak down , would add a very slick , snow release finish to that , while in the area , might even , touch up plow / steering quadrant / function  lube . the squeeze lever , to quadrant functional  detailing   makes for , very easy , light blade swing , basically  the lever  to quadrant slide pin spring  , lubrication , makes for very smooth / easy  blade  use , that slick blade finish  is like free HP  , pete

@WHX??  did that years ago , basically  verifying  function , since doing that , have touched up many areas , amazing to me AT HOW LITTLE  ENHANCEMENT  TO ORIGINAL SET UP , IT TAKES  TO MAKE IT  BETTER ,  would suggest if you are having any PIA  area , to try and eliminate it , THE REPITITION  , IS SHOWING YOU THE WAY . just trying a  lever / linkage  sloppy  / rusty  zone , is like a gold mine of  corrections . washers / lube , verifying  how things  are intended to move , is like , this is so easy to correct . pete
