WHX?? 49,432 #1 Posted Saturday at 01:24 AM (edited) Like I said @Rp.wh is most times useless but does has a knack for finding tractors... I recently acquired three of them ... all 702s. They been POed and molested heavy but most nothing that can't be reversed with a little elbow grease and a bucket of paint and a brush. A sneak preview of all three. Why do they always look better in pictures?!?!? 702 # 1 Yeah she seen better times but mostly there. Not exactly a roller ... frozen water and transmissions don't play together well but a hour in the shop and was draining. Water and oil were still separated so that's good thing. Gotta like the steering wheel! Nice ... A for effort I guess From the we've see it all files ... @Ed Kennell you still got your front tiller ? I think this guy was setting up for it. Joking aside guy has gotta wonder what he may have been trying to turn in 1968 . Is it my eyes or the pic but does that block look blue?? Didn't notice 'till now but find out tomorrow for sure. A sno blower perhaps??? Actually this is some kind of pull switch just hanging out! The good news ... The shoes look really good fronts look to be orginal Generals widely used in the day and hard to find now. Rears don't appear to be cracked or bulging out anywhere. They'll get aired up abit tomorrow to see. The rubber should be able to be saved. Like any good show and to keep you guys in suspense ... to be continued ... Stay tuned for for tomorrow's episode featuring 702 # 2 ! Edited Saturday at 02:03 AM by WHX?? 10 8

oliver2-44 9,907 #6 Posted Saturday at 02:07 PM @Pullstart While you know him better personally, I have to think those are mutually barns/property. If they were truly hers, she would have kicked him out long ago. After all. I think that's why mine keeps me around, too messy to divide stuff up. O, and I'm still semi-young enough to be good slave labor!

Nobody ever said I was adding these to the herd ... I am merely a purveyor of these fine goods. # 1 and # 2 are going to a guy who shall remain nameless at his time. I have a see thru roof and walls don't ya know. I have faith said person will easily get one really nice one out of two plus lots of stuff leftover for a rat rod, for sale, make some friends etc.. That being that I may keep number three pending shop inspections. 3
WHX?? 49,432 #9 Posted Sunday at 01:08 AM (edited) Ok now that I got you straitened out ... on to # two. As with #1 first order of business was to drain the coolant. Wish POs would use anti freeze... Now we have a roller... Prolly not for long tho... All four completely gone. This girl is in real rough shape . Lots of things molested, broken, missing and just plain cobbled. It could be restoed but better suited to a parts tractor. Some must die so others may live. Towing point ?? How on earth does one break a lift arm at this area?? Yep... that'll work... Bonus point for wood species ID ... Gives new meaning to stomp on it ... musta needed the clutch pedal for a gas pedal ... Show hitch worth the price of admission? This guy had to gradiate to the Pullstart school of fabrication. The redesigned coolant add ports ... Lets not get all unraveled about the throttle cable not working... WHX?? 49,432 #10 Posted Sunday at 01:51 AM (edited) Hear tell they don't make these anymore either. This one in excellent shape and how rare is it to have the original center piece? Sorry Lowell no sale here. By the Way the white stuff is road salt... and we have no snow Worse is can't hose it off ... water would freeze in transit with this cold snap. Couple of buckets of water I guess. All in all I'm happy with it from the look at all the parts perspective. Once it's reduced to a pile of parts the cobblements will be vintage history. The one piece tank alone will more than cover the cost of score. We know we can make the motor run & surely the tranny can be saved. The deck is interesting and even tho I have a half a mind I may restore it just for the challenge and close mowing around the bushes. Just to say I did. WHX?? 49,432 #18 Posted yesterday at 02:45 AM (edited) Ok since the Packers flopped ... it's Squonks fault .. yah go ahead and gloat @stevasaurus Had time to get # 3 in the shop and look it over. This one is a real mess too and far from being a 702. I may be a ungies monkel but since when did a 702 have this?? A franken for sure. Whats worse is no other way to ID it Tag under dash is covered up by the HY mount and motor ... Pssst ...what a piece of junk. Most certainly a replacement with no tag either. Tell me what's wrong here eagle eyes. No spark but ran when parked ... and no biggy but a blown head gasket and mice fer sure in the tins. Will track down the no spark issues tomorrow and see if she pops. Most likely points and or cobbled ignition switch. More on it tomorrow I gotta go watch Squonkies Queenies win ... WHX?? 49,432 #19 Posted 16 hours ago (edited) So at this point not sure what to do with it. We might have overpaid abit for it ... 400 but the HY, the plow is in ok shape and other parts might add up. I really don't need another plow rig what with the tecky on the 502 running so good ...knock on wood. Now I'm not totally against githerdone cobbling & Wallfish back yard antics as long as it gets right down the road. That's just me and i'll beg no forgiveness for being that way. That said the only thing I can see for this one, with me anyway, is a frame off full paint Achto resto which I said I would never do again. So I would have to come out of resto retirement to do that. It's certainly worth doing that. I do have a fresh 181 that would drop right in. A guy could just run it like he stole it but a broken spring in the HY and leaking cylinder would bother me till no end. Not to mention a hacked up drive line with no belt guard so that's not really an option for me. Another option would be to just move it on down the road for what hopefully what I have into it but that would be the easy way out. I got a feeling that It's going to get reduced to a pile of parts for a full resto. The fact that we have #2 to draw parts off of really helps. Essentially getting two nice 702s out of three. What would be teats on a Ritz is to also resto the deck from #2 with it for a really cool vintage for some great seat time. From the what the hell files on the drive line and HY. Gotta like the engineering on the engine belt stop devices. The HY setup is definitely from the what the hell was he thinkin files ... I can not see no reason for having to do this. A pressure beyond port?!?!? Dan note the dash knobs ... donor dash plate from something later??? One can only speculate. @rjg854 did a 854 have those? Pullstart 63,174 #20 Posted 15 hours ago I got this bin full of old pipe fittings from Grandpa’s barn. I really hate throwing Grandpa’s things out. I’ll replumb my HY system! Badabing. Badabang. Badaboom.

Pullstart 63,174 #24 Posted 15 hours ago I can’t say I’m a Lions fan. That would be like saying I’m a football fan. Or like saying I want a John Deere. I enjoy the game, if it’s on. It would take a lot of commitment for me to become a fan of a game that’s so little in the big world of commercialization. But, I’m glad my kid could go have a fun safe night and I could get her home safe (and tired) before the return to school. 2

Kevin I’m the same way and not a diehard sports fan of any kind besides when NASCAR was the real deal . Sure wish I knew you were coming as we stayed the weekend downtown and I would’ve gave you my room key just a couple blocks from the stadium . Downtown has changed so much for the better the last ten years and never did feel unsafe wandering around . I only went because this was a huge game for the Lions and I will never get to experience a superbowl . My only complaint is the way I was treated by some of the staff and trying to get a ADA seat . They gave season ticket holders all the seats, disabled or not . I was moved 5 times and we did our homework before hand and did everything like we were told but that all went out the window when they split our group up outside . Eventually everything got worked out but I will still be filling a complaint .
