peter lena 9,075 #1 Posted December 27, 2024 the hip therapy , has been very effective , spot on for foundational function . tracking , therapists are very sharp on any issue , and regularly , get you on an eyes closed , balance / muscle function , balance bar set up, guaranteed to expose more . they also liked my nap after any related walking movement , response . usually walk a vacant parking lot , that makes for a safe place to walk , when I started doing that , my almost immediate feeling was sleep , so thats a regular thing for me , nap is a knock out , body response is telling you that , also doing a lot of stair climbing , told me I was weeks ahead of regular , work , staying at it , pete 7
rmaynard 15,905 #2 Posted December 27, 2024 Good job Pete. It's amazing what these PT's can do. My brother broke his hip one year ago today. He had it repaired. Did limited PT. He's still limping and has pain. My next door neighbor had her hip replaced less than 6 moths ago, did the PT as directed, and you would never know it. No pain, no limp. 2
peter lena 9,075 #3 Posted December 27, 2024 @rmaynard that limited PT was a DO NOT DO THAT , joint speciality hospital I went to , was verified at every stage , they want you to do well and totally recover , the x rays done before surgery , are fed into the lazer function body mount , that actually guides the dr at every stage / step . I walk every day , and also do the cellar stairs every day , its all just coming together, BTW , my lower spine fusion , is spot on and you can barely see the smooth scar , suchers , desolve , 4 glue down lazer points are , gone . actually surprised that the hospital involved with your brother , did not have a dr talk with him , or was brushed off , its too easy today to help yourself , thanks for the shout , pete
peter lena 9,075 #4 Posted December 27, 2024 @rmaynard went to a pre op surgery technician led informational stage 3 week prior to surgery , about 35 people in the class , all going to have , hip, knee, shoulder , spine operations coming up , hefty information pack , walked thru , all stages , questions , answers . thought the info was very good thorough , emphasized any question concerning you , there was a # to call , or contact . another part of it was the emphasis of thorough therapy , just the idea of not doing what you are saposed to do , to settle in and correctly move initial joint placement , is asking for trouble . and then of course blaming the dr for your problems . it takes personal interest / effort , say mine was about 2 weeks , of related discomfort , then started getting , signs of relief , been on that mindset ever since . also helped that my wife told me , she would kick my ass , if I didn't follow thru ! imagine that , pete 3

peter lena 9,075 #6 Posted December 28, 2024 @953 nut hiding in plane sight help , another variation added was a regular , wal mart , carriage parking lot walk around . park my car way out there , near a sitting cart , practice the CLOSE TO PUSH BAR STANCE . arms NEVER EXTENDED , that holds you vertically , you can feel the solid pelvic assist , THATS WHAT YOU WANT , did a lot of that , lets you comfortably step / feel what's comfortable for you , set up a number of assist opportunities in everything I regularly did , did not take long to realise / sense / feel the positive results . also taught me how to enter / sit in a car , virtually eliminating the angular leg / angle swing . basically entering the car back / bottom first , the instant bottom support , takes the hip joint , out of the picture , feel sense / adjust to the gain . mind set WAS NOT SEEING / sensing THAT, practice / repeat your gains , thats a great gain for you mentally / physically . if you think playing hard ass / macho is going to pull you thru , YOU ARE WRONG . now I regularly sense / use all my changes , pete 1
