Here are a few items I made with materials I had around the garage. The original black plastic dash panel was broken in two and half missing so I had some thin galvanized sheet metal that I buffed out with steel wool and it came up like brushed aluminum. I just have to letter the dash. I made the wheel covers from a sheet of plastic/vinyl. Cut them to fit the inside rim diameter and then installed chrome door edge molding from advance auto over the outside to hold the vinyl in place. Of course it wouldn't be complete without the logos. I did the shift pattern with 1/2 letters from Office depot and a little black paint and some pin stripe. The small decals just don't cut it when you have to wear glasses !! I'm not going to admit it but I'm not getting younger !!

Here are some more pics in the sunlight. If I can find some more material to use I will gladly make some of these depending on how much intrest and expense it would take. I'll research into this further and update you. If it's to expensive or not feasible I'll just write up a tutorial on how to make these.

Kelly you hit it right on the second one we have a guy around here that will steal anything for dope. He got my neighbors $3400.00 John Deere and a couple more so I have it chained to the 8x8 post as there is no more room in the stable so it has to sit out under the shelter. Now that you say that it's sort of like the old cowboy movies tying up their horse to a hitching post.

Mike the caps do look great & even better considering it's something you came up with! :scratchead:

So that chrome edge trim just hold it in place within the rim?

Do they snap in place or just enough pressure to keep them in place?

Thats to bad about the locals.

Do they know what happens to horse thieves? :hide:

Crow, with your reputation I highly doubt anyone is dumb enough to trespass on your property anyway, lol .

I have to admit, no fan of hub cabs but those really do look nice .
