I used Purple power one time in the ultrasonic cleaner .  Discolored the carb body and what ever it was would rub off on things took a lot of brushing/buffing to clean it up  never do that again...

Same here. Also the same with Incredible Pink. 

Both excellent degreasers. Both bad for aluminum.

I have a needle here. 

Pop yours out and look at the configuration of holes.

I have started using high temp paint on aluminum. Carbs, heads, and even bare engine blocks. The stuff below goes on extremely thin, and is the only silver high temp I’ve used that lasts. It dries flat and looks pretty nice. Looks semi-transparent. 
 

I know- some say paint affects cooling. Wheel Horse painted entire blocks with thick heavy enamel, and those engines lasted 50 years. I think the effect is minimal if anything. 
 

Here in the south, aluminum corrodes horribly. Corrosion traps crud, and looks like crap. This paint at least prevents that.

I've also been using that on my aluminum heads and plan to use it on some block cylinder fins.

I've considered it. 

I should pick up a tri pod for holding the phone. 

There are several issues with videos and me. Biggest is lack of time. 

I'm a little too particular sometimes (a lot)  so they usually have to be edited. That's fine but extremely time consuming.
