Briggs and Stratton BR6

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a cooper reel mower made in marshaltown lowa, not far from me, about an half hour, it had a Briggs and Stratton BR6. I have the engine id that's all there's no id tag on the mower just a label, I got the mower, 2 pull behind reels and a sulky also a crank. I was wondering if someone could check the serial number and get me a year, I also got a springfeild 36 that I've been wanting. I'll post more but first the cooper

the id tag is hard to read I'll type out the numbers

I went and took a closer look at this thing, still found no other forum of ID, but I took the head off, both pistons work and its boarded .030 over. and when taking off the head it looked like there was a tin on top, nope solid steel, and the other tractor I got turns over good and has spark!

I have a B&S Br6 here. Mine came out of a 1947 Bolens Huski Gardener913442553_PXL_20220827_203656365_MP2.jpg.8bdda80930a7745c0170d088072d40e5.jpg

This engine is a single cylinder PXL_20221031_220537657_MP.jpg.fa8115c2194660d0e2383e741d13dc91.jpg

I'd be interested in seeing more pictures of what you have.

I unloaded the mower this morning and it turns over good, the drive and blade both engage and disengage. I connected the reels and seat. the mowers supposed to green. it also has a compression release that shims up the exhaust valuve. I'll post pictures of it all hooked up it looks cool. definitely worth what I paid for it, it has no apart, think I need to clean the points
