Pullstart 63,080 #1 Posted Monday at 08:40 PM 2011 Kia Forte. 173 hp 2.4L / 6 speed automatic. The tire went flat. They didn’t know how to change it. Drove it, broke the wheel, and the battery died. So it was parked. Freebie! The smart thing to do would be drive it and get amazing fuel mileage, but that seems silly! I’m thinking a spacer lift, 29” mud tires and have fun 2
Pullstart 63,080 #3 Posted Monday at 08:42 PM I stuck a battery in it, changed the tire (yes, the special socket was right in the passenger seat in a box of stock lug nuts), and drove it off the dolly. some zip ties holding the bumper in place, and a sawzall to trim the bottom broken part, and it’s ready to go. The hood is bare metal and surface rusted. The Downpipe bellows is broken, so it’s a bit noisy. 2

Handy Don 12,436 #5 Posted Monday at 08:49 PM (edited) Man, I was the family’s designated tire changer from age 12 or 13. Summers to snows and back. And Dad always waited until it snowed and was freezing cold to do the summer to snow switch. Here they also make tire changing a part of the HS driver ed program! Pullstart 63,080 #6 Posted Monday at 08:52 PM The wheel lug pattern is 5 on 4.5, just like our beloved Wheel Horses, Jeeps and Ford Rangers. I learned today that these Wrangler 15” wheels will not quite clear the front brakes. The 31” tire will not fit inside the wheel well without major trimming! So, 16” wheels are minimum and 29” tires are maximum. 2

So did the 3.5 Taurus, Flex, and Edge.

Four coworkers have/had Kias with that engine. Three have had replacement engines installed. Even being a freebie I think you might have paid too much. 953 nut 55,739 #25 Posted Tuesday at 12:16 PM From what @wh500special said about the engines it shouldn't be too hard to find a replacement wheel for the one that got destroyed. I would be inclined to put as little $ as posable into it and pass it on to a new owner.
