K181 throttle shaft bushings

Recommended Posts

I've been looking high and low for brass bushing ..  size is about.   .406 or 13/32 outside diameter and .216 or 1/5 inside diameter.

Not the same as the bigger kohler carburetors.

Anyone with  a source or will they need to be machined?

Check McMaster Carr.

If not there you can use a bolt to hold the oversized bushings in a drill to sand the outsides down some.

Looked could not find anything there

Should have a bunch made up and

Give them to others looking  i have Carter carberaters both have bad play .

Thinking if you have to make one might as well make 30 or so not any more work really.

I'd agree with that

Mark - do check the throttle shaft itself for wear. Minor wear with new bushings makes it better - a solid unworn shaft makes it right...

That's definitely a good point on the small block carbs.

Some don't have the recess to accept the bushings which moves the wear point on the shaft.
