Recommended Posts

Anybody got a clutch with a legible decal on it? Just curious what is on there. I can’t make mine out…

Edit: Sorry fellas, I wasn’t thinking. Below is a pic I borrowed from @pfrederi that at least shows the type of clutch I’m asking about.

Bit out of focus  Basically warms you warranty will be voided if you do not demount the clutch using a pusher bolt.

@kpinnc  just curious , what did you use in the bearings ?  do not have any , wide bearing seal faces that I have not , carefully removed and cleaned out / re grease  with 550  flash point grease , the other half of any rotational set up , is the  RELATED , LEVERS / LINKAGE , hand off  areas . since starting that years ago , I marvel at how easily , original  movement areas , with some added  detailing , move in smooth / easy silence . MANUAL PTO LEVER , PLOW SWING  LINKAGE , ANY HARD TO USE SET UP , IS USUALLY JUST A DETAILING FIX AWAY . how about , choke and throttle cables , that sound like a hack saw blade on rusted metal ?  what could you possibly do ? 3 IN 1 , PENETRANT , orange bottle , also  SUPER LUBE IN BOTTLE , check temp range  !  if you want to get really scary , add a small  extension spring  to the cable end , connection  point , imagine a spring assist , to close , against  it , more  function ! every time you move it , its assisted ! as the rust runs out , it starts to get easier, how could that be ? easy to add a SMALL PREFORATED , spring pull point anywhere, purists are terrified , its up to you , pete

I used regular red grease. Cleaned the bearings out with carb cleaner until nothing came out. It’s messy, but the bearings are very smooth afterwards. Then just carefully reinstalled the seals.

New connectors will be here tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll get it installed then.

I think mine looks more like the one on the right. The race is flush on both sides.
