stevasaurus 22,842 #1 Posted December 14 Me, being a Navy guy...I wish to give my congratulations to Navy for their win today. On the other side, I wish to offer my congratulations to Army and their excillant season. Nothing but class was displayed during this game. Like was said...the only flag that would be raised in center field...the Star Spangled Banner. 4 3

Yeah, that was far from unsportsmanlike. Great game and finish with Navy taking the knees 2

What was funny is the announcer saying after words something to the effect of "this is why lawyers should not be allowed on the field" or something like that.
Racinbob 11,196 #5 Posted December 15 I always enjoy the Army/Navy game. I believe that unsportsmanlike flag was thrown because it appeared differently to one of them that what it really was. I was hoping the refs would pow wow and pull back the flag. 2
rjg854 11,472 #6 Posted December 15 Go Navy, 8-3, kind of being the underdog team in this game. Army has had one of their best seasons, 10-1. All around good game.

One of the greatest American Sporting events. I went a few years ago in Philadelphia with two brothers-in-law--one Navy and one Army! Together they chose the seats to get the best view of the field and not have the sun in their eyes. I told them I would be cheering every good play, regardless of the team. They laughed and we had a great time. I was, I must add, moved deeply when the combined choruses sang the Star Spangled Banner and during the post-game camaraderie between the teams.
