Running tally:

The machine:                         $0

Wrecker bill to haul it home:  $100

Reconditioned battery:           $70

Wrong points kit:                    $13

D14 spark plugs:                   $20

New coil:                                In stock

subtotal:                                 $203

The parts store has a cap and rotor and the correct points waiting for me.  I’m sure a set of plug wires would do this well, and so would an oil change.

Now that you have a forklift you can get the truck project down from the storage racks and finish it before @ebinmaine finishes Colossus.

Is that a Continental engine? They were used in lots of industrial applications and were tough as nails.

Industrial engines can be a PITA to get the correct parts for. Just because a certain model engine was used in a forklift, doesn't mean it uses the same stuff in a street sweeper. I went round and round with a Tennant sweeper with a Continental engine. Guy wanted tune up parts. There were like 8 different variations of points caps and rotors. Get the number off of the distributor if possible

You are going to like that forklift.

We have one with a diesel, We use it all the time around the house and even in the shop.

Thanks for the interest fellas!  Yeah, that truck needs attention one way or another, it takes up way too much space sitting there!
