Alrashid2 382 #1 Posted December 11, 2024 Hey guys, anyone know which way these wheel weights should be installed? I'm assuming these are aftermarket and not WH brand. They appear to be cast iron. Not sure which side goes on the inside of the rim and which side faces out Also, anyone know what the purpose is of the half circle cut outs on either side? Just curious at this point! ebinmaine 70,649 #2 Posted December 11, 2024 The half circles are there for a couple reasons. One for you to hold on to. Also to line up with a valve stem if there was one. Our valve stems are on the inside and those wheel weights go on the outside so it won't matter to you. As for position, I would put them on the outside of the wheel with that bump in the weight facing the inside as long as they fit that way.
ri702bill 8,951 #3 Posted December 11, 2024 There is also a similar version with the center hole going straight thru. Those are popular, as they can be mounted in the inside or outside of the rim. Some folks get creative with 2 sets and do both. More weight - on or in the wheels / tires - is a good thing.....
Alrashid2 382 #4 Posted December 11, 2024 @ebinmainethanks buddy, I will try just that this weekend! @ri702bill I did see those online! I much rather would prefer that but I'm working with what I got
SylvanLakeWH 27,494 #5 Posted December 11, 2024 Either way should work. I'd go with the belly button approach ... outee or innee? Personal preference...
Bar Nuthin 935 #6 Posted December 11, 2024 They look similar to a pair of John Deere weights I was given. The recessed holes pretty much indicate that the center hump goes towards the hub. I assumed the hump is for stacking/aligning multiple weights.
lt230s 14 #7 Posted December 12, 2024 Definitely appear to be JD weights. Good luck with them!
Pullstart 64,463 #8 Posted December 12, 2024 Weights is weights. Unless they’re lights. Then they’re lights.

Streetrodchev 859 #10 Posted December 12, 2024 (edited) Those are similar to John Deere weights (JD weights have a round hole for the mounting hardware vs the square hole). They can mount either way, but most mount the dish inward. They are stackable, add as many as you need.
