1968 Raider 12 Wiring Issues

The engine was originally a magneto/points system.  Those wires came from the magneto (Under the Flywheel) and went to the points, also one was probably the kill that went to the ignition switch to shut the engine off.  they are not needed now with your battery ignition system.

Many of us use a Ford starter solenoid in place of the standard lawnmower solenoid, they are much better and cost the same or less.

The Kohler part number 41 403 06 voltage regulator is the one you should use, The new number for this is 25 403 22 and :techie-ebay: is a good source.

Most good auto parts stores will have a selection of battery cables in various lengths, a #6 AWG will be good. 

Ok thanks, do you have a part # or link for the solenoid ? That would be helpful.

These are available and cheap... will they last 25 years??? i have couple that have lasted 5-10 years,..
