WHX?? 49,513 #5 Posted December 10, 2024 (edited) Think your on to something Mike... I had thought a die handle but then the round thing looks like a shotgun shell and the way the handle flips over. Weren't shells made of brass at one time? Edited December 10, 2024 by WHX??
gt14rider 808 #6 Posted December 10, 2024 that's what I was thinking. Seams to be a brass 12ga shotgun shell . Good call.

So was this a tool for “punching out” a fired primer cap so you could put in a new one when reloading a shotgun shell? Ed Kennell 39,265 #12 Posted December 10, 2024 18 minutes ago, Handy Don said: “punching out” No, that had to be done with a long punch from the other end of the shell. This tool would be used to push in the new cap.

Not sure the best way to sell. Been out of shooting sports for so long no idea of values. On a smoke pole thing right now. I'll look ya up Wayne ... I'm not sure about your area, but around here values are nuts. You might as well buy new because that's what old well used guns bring....new price. If you can find a gun auction around to consign that might be your best bet.
