c-series don 8,848 #3 Posted December 10 Hi Dave, I have a lift table that I bought from Harbor freight. It’s a motorcycle lift that I made the top wider to accommodate my tractors. I doubled up 3/4” oak plywood and banded it with poplar. I waited until it went on sale and I think I paid around 500 bucks for it. My only regret is not buying it sooner! Since I have a bad back this is really a game changer. Now I stand up and work on them without having to stop because my back hurts. Unless I’m doing something simple it’s going on the table! You want pictures? I got em! 1 4
dmoore 883 #4 Posted December 10 Don I had forgot all about yours! Perfect! Thank you for these photo's as well buddy! Looks to be the way to go, and its mobile! I'm sure the capacity is more than enough to handle our tractors as you show. I will be in a Harbor Freight Friday!

dmoore 883 #7 Posted December 10 What a nice finishing touch! So it doesn't go low enough to just roll the tractor on? I see your ramps there.

dmoore 883 #10 Posted December 10 Don could you post a few from underneath showing how you secured the oak to the frame?
squonk 41,351 #11 Posted December 11 I got my HF table from FBMP. Tons of them on there. Mine came with removable side wings for width, heavier casters and an air over hyd jack which is a nice upgrade!

c-series don 8,848 #14 Posted December 11 @dmoore You see how the edges of Squonks table are turned up? Mine is the same way. So I made the bottom piece three pieces, one fits inside the edges and then two pieces outside of the edge. The top is then one piece and it’s screwed together. It’s all 3/4” oak furniture grade plywood. It was actually LESS money than 3/4” CDX plywood! Funny story, when I was doing this I screwed it together from the top down. Wanting a nice smooth top, I filled the screw holes with wood filler. While doing this my brother stopped by and said “You dumb ass, if you just screwed it from the bottom up you wouldn’t be filling and sanding all those holes!!” From the factory there’s holes in the table that you can put 1” lag screws in from underneath to affix it. I still haven’t built a good ramp setup yet, so I just use some pieces of wood. Not really ideal but it works for now.
kpinnc 12,542 #15 Posted December 11 I really like that HF lift table. It’s smaller than my stand, and would work well in the garage. Maybe I’ll catch them on clearance one day. At least I hope so… I built my stand with the capability to be towed around from my old barn to my old shop. Now at the new house I don’t need that ability as much. It’s a great stand, but takes up a lot of real estate. But, I can start or finish with nothing but a standard WH frame, and go from there. For that, nothing works better! 3
Pullstart 63,097 #16 Posted December 11 (edited) @c-series don you kind of need to wrap that bottle jack with a Coors Light sticker. In the wee light of the screen this morning I thought it was a beer can! Edited December 11 by Pullstart
