Mushrush 17 #1 Posted December 3 I'm missing, (what I think it's called) the blade directional rod. The rod that moves the blade from left to right. Connects to the blade and the bracket down by your feet. And a rod from the bracket down by your feet to the hand lever. I don't think these parts are made anymore. But what would be a good substitute for these? I've tried threaded rod from Home Depot. But it wasn't strong enough. It would be d trying to turn the blades. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you P.S. 312-8 and whatever blade came with it.the serial and part numbers are gone.

ebinmaine 68,455 #3 Posted December 3 The lower rod should be 1/2" thick or more. I've successfully used a piece of straight rod that I threaded and attached heavy duty heim joints. Using heim joints takes ALL the looseness out of bit ends. The upper rod can be mechanics wire. 2
Mushrush 17 #4 Posted December 3 Any idea how long it should be. Id go look, but right now it's buried in 5 feet of snow

Id go look, but right now it's buried in 5 feet of snow The pivot angle rod lengths varied somewhat for different models/years/blade widths. They were attached in different ways at the ends, too. The earliest ones used a flat bar with clevis pins but later came ⅜” rods and finally ½” with “L” bends at the ends. Measure from the hole in the plow quadrant (set to the middle position) to a point directly below the pivot for the angle control lever. Subtract 60” for snow depth .. If you know someone who installs chain link fence ask them for a scrap piece of TENSION WIRE. That is the wire used to stabilize the bottom of the fence, it is what I used for the release handle.

I used a garage door cable and turnbuckle for a tensioner when I routed the lever inside the cab on my 520. I used small eye bolts as cable guides. 1
