TonyToro Jr. 1,749 #1 Posted December 3, 2024 Let’s see all those decoration trees! No matter how big or how small, real or fake. Let’s see em! 2
WHX?? 50,610 #2 Posted December 3, 2024 (edited) Barking up the wrong tree here Junior ... pun intended ... Haven't had one since 1932 when Christmas got commercialized. Edited December 3, 2024 by WHX?? 1 5
oliver2-44 10,311 #3 Posted December 3, 2024 I put the tree up Saturday. Then the herd of (7) grandkids were over Sunday and decorated it. 1 1
Beap52 1,164 #4 Posted December 3, 2024 Grandbabies are the main reason grandma decorates our house. Pam didn't decorate for a couple of years after our son died but when grandchildren came along, she seemed to enjoy watching them around the tree. Our family certainly doesn't want to forget why Christmas is such an important celebration and now our oldest grandchild reads about the birth of Jesus from the book of Luke in the Bible. 1 2

rmaynard 15,893 #6 Posted December 3, 2024 If it were up to me, I'd skip the tree...but it's not my call. Mrs. M loves the tree, and the four grandsons (now age 13 to 21) are stilling willing to decorate it. So I guess it's the same old routine. However, this year we again have a new cat. Haven't had one since 2016. This might be fun. 2 1
kpinnc 13,634 #7 Posted December 3, 2024 I’m dragging in late. Mine is undecorated in the garage. Just got it yesterday, so it’s soaking up it’s first water and relaxing and hopefully shedding any hitch hikers. Will bring it in tonight and decorate.

Never found a squirrel, but that movie always comes to mind for me as well. …Still looking for that high speed lubricant they used on the sledding scene. I’ve seen that movie dozens of times, and between that, the dog clearing his throat under the table, and the exploding cat under the recliner, I still belly laugh about those scenes!

My fave is the snooty neighbor trying to figure out what destroyed his stereo an left a wet spot on the floor. Classic!

Achto 28,669 #12 Posted December 3, 2024 Fri after Thanksgiving is the traditional day for Christmas to move into our house. Start the day by hunting down & bagging a frasier fir to serve as our tree for the season. Next the decision has to be made as to what decorations will go on the tree (we have enough to decorate 3 or 4 trees thanks to my "crazy", I mean lovely wife ) This year we chose to go with glass bulbs.

ri702bill 8,934 #18 Posted December 6, 2024 (edited) Got this last year as a gift. The Tabletop Charlie Brown pathetic tree - complete with theme music... Seems to fit in well... Edited December 6, 2024 by ri702bill 2
8ntruck 7,368 #19 Posted December 6, 2024 My father in law used to work with a group who cut and sold Christmas trees. Seems that shortly after the Charlie Brown special was aired on TV, the scraggly, crooked, ugly trees - known as 'clear cuts' in the trade - suddenly became desireable.
Bar Nuthin 932 #20 Posted December 6, 2024 A few years back my wife wanted a tree that didn't take up space, so I made her this one that sets flat against the wall. She hasn't used it for a couple of years and told me I could throw it out if I wanted. So, it became the official "Garage Christmas Tree"! 2
