can you put a snow cab from a 300,400,500 series machine and make it work on a 1966 1056?

The short answer is, yes... but.  

 

The question is really, with what modifications?

 

A 1056 does not have steps where your feet go and that's how the brackets are attached at the front to hold the forward part of the cab frame including the door hinge assembly.

Also, the steering Tower of a 1977 or older machine is angled backwards at the bottom whereas from 1978 and up it was vertically perpendicular to the frame. It's possible that the canvas may need an addition to account for that place.
