Electrician's Help Wanted

I really don't understand why you haven't had this looked at by a QUALIFIED electrician yet. You're going down a scary path here. Please do the right thing. My last post on this thread.

I think we got this figured out.

 

My BIL, 15 years as an HVAC and electrical installer, came over and we went through it. It never acted up while he was here, but we found the tripped breaker did feed the old service to the garage, and we found a short in those wires. No other problems were found.

 

We disconnected those wires at the breaker, made sure both ends are dead, left the breaker off since it isn't hooked to anything now, and I will fully remove them from the system then.
