stevasaurus 22,914 #2 Posted November 23, 2024 Pete, far be it from me, but do you read every thing you type before you post it ?? That is more then one sentence and a few breaths of air if you had to read that out loud. I doubt you really talk like that, but it really is hard to read and I do like what you have to say. It's just hard to get through sometimes...just sayin'. It does sound like you are OK. I'm not picking on you, but sometimes I give up trying to read one of your posts. 2 2

8ntruck 7,183 #11 Posted November 24, 2024 That's good news. Keep after that therapy - it really helps the recovery. My wife has had a knee replacement and some back surgery. The physical therapy was key to her recovery.

peter lena 8,878 #14 Posted November 24, 2024 @stevasaurus will make a point of , stoping , every separate , issue, usually as any related , thought comes up, had a stroke in my left eye , that effected , detailing , had to go to a RETINA SPECIALIST , for that , included , getting injections into the eye ball. as some of us get older , we change , regularly adapt to what used to be. function . will make apoint of stopping , every detail for you . used to work with a bunch of guys . that never did anything , or went anywhere , kind of like living in a closet . when ever I came back from a trip . it was always the same , well where in the hell did you go this time ? none of them could relate to anything , that my wife and I , had seen , by the way , have you ever , been to the CN TOWER IN CHACAGO ? PROBABLY NOT , go at night , so you can see the aircraft , lighting , hanging in the sky , against a very well lit city . the room you are in is all clear safety glass , top to bottom , you get there in the freight elevator , when the door opens , its a light show , thats hard to beat , hope the periods helped , pete 2

peter lena 8,878 #16 Posted November 24, 2024 @stevasaurus gaining on my movement , had a heck of a day yesterday , after the therapist left , he woke up areas that were , still in defence mode , slept 10 hours ! out cold . regularly using walker . also supportive shoes , for solid walking . also noted my right foot , is now straight ahead , instead of a 30 degree angle to the right . today started doing , everything I was told to do , exercise, do every one of the mandatory kitchen counter , supported standing movement stretch areas , also noting meds reaction , and keeping records of what works , and confusion . righting down everything ,most important is reaction to supported stretches , have the before / after . effect . my wife has been right there , helping out , her past nursing home involvement , has an insight that few people have , office manager , she can decipher , medical / insurance forms , for every detail . have ice on my leg now , and will be walking around soon , therapist coming over monday , related help is awesome , their pre operation class , was very informative . pete
peter lena 8,878 #17 Posted November 24, 2024 @Ed Kennell THANKS ED! just cruising around the house with the walker , just have to go by what they say , for gains / corrections . joint work today , is totally different from the past , every step , is laser guided , usually glued right on you , suchering , dissolves in place , and there is minimal scaring , also its straight lined , not like the old style , free hand surgery . in a mater of weeks it all fades away . glad to be on the other side , pete
stevasaurus 22,914 #18 Posted November 24, 2024 Pete...I was never attacking you. You have a lot to ad to this site, I was just saying your posts are hard to read and full sentences would be easier to understand. I'm wondering...if you can type all what you type, why can't you make full sentences?? Just so you know, I am not going to make a contest out of this, but...if you want to show me your scars, I am full of arthritus, I have had a mini-stroke, a detached retina, high blood presure, fractured hip..arm and riped tendons in shoulder (with operation), knee surgery, cateracks, 3 hernias, but I still have my hair ! I know and have used crutches and walkers. At the moment, I can still make full sentences that the members on this site can read. I love you man...my prayers are with you...you have a lot to say...but I wish you could say it so it was easy to read and understand.
peter lena 8,878 #19 Posted November 24, 2024 @stevasaurus that detailing is something that I should have taken care of . probably started with the meds , and just saying what I felt , will be going over anything sent , so it makes sense . thank you for the exchange , probably the kick in the a s , I needed , thanks pete 1
peter lena 8,878 #20 Posted November 25, 2024 @stevasaurus today is very good for , transition , definitely up and about with a more definite desire to gain on this movement stage , even got outside on the deck with the walker , sun , clean / clear . been doing laps in the house , therapist coming over at 3 30 . they have seen it all , so their insight into change , is gaged by your attitude , interest , desire , to get going . my leg skin has a number of sticky zones , probably covered over with gauze / protection , when getting out of bed , tends to stick together , initially like tearing at your skin , 3 am trying to get up . pain is off the chart , then settles down. overall though , making solid gains , wife is right there covering any issue , also getting much better with those hand squeezers , putting on socks etc. sleep is almost instant , always planning another trial at movement gain. my walking was a confused struggle , now its solid and much better , going for another walker gain , drinking a lot of water , probably have another nap . later , pete

peter lena 8,878 #23 Posted November 27, 2024 @RandyLittrell thank you for the shout ! seams like we both went to the same school , had both of my knees done 17 years ago , that was early stage MAKO robotics , checked for best dr write ups on line . kept me in hospital 3 days , then 10 days in a nursing home , thats how far its come today . talked to a number of guys , with recent work , and they all said it was not bad , emphasizing once you start feely walking its amazing . already backing down , everything is just coming in play , agree with the knee comparison , brutality . just staying safe , with motion , but with the rehab people I have , its been very good . have a good turkey day , and thanks again for encouragement , just started walking the driveway , sun / fresh air , will speed things up , i am under a week , last friday after noon , on my hip , but gaining every day , have a good holiday ! thanks again , pete

sjoemie himself 3,072 #25 Posted December 28, 2024 Hey mr Greasy! Just now reading about your hips and that you're not mr Greased Lightnin' at the moment but you're getting there! Good to read your positive attitude towards things, that's half the battle! Or atleast in my book it is. I've been away from here for awhile, lots of work to do but have a few days off now. Hope to catch up on the forums a bit but we'll see how that goes. Anyway, good to read you're doing better everyday. Stay positive! 1
