Alrashid2 171 #1 Posted November 22 Hey guys. Noticed today that the front left wheel has some pretty bad camber. Top is angled outward, bottom angled inward. Right tire looks fine. Hard to capture in a picture but I got two photos here showing the right wheel lines up square with the rear wheel while the left tire is obviously canted. I know toe is adjustable on these. But is camber? Only thing I could see would be somehow removing that piece of the front axle and bending it in a vise with a hammer, but that makes me nervous... Lot of trial and error too. kpinnc 12,198 #4 Posted November 22 I would check your wheel bearings. Other than that, you probably have a slightly bent steering knuckle. Lee1977 6,689 #7 Posted November 23 If the wheel bearings haven't been changed it needs some new ones. As said above worn spindles are common if it hasn't been greased regularly. While you are there even with good bearings and spindles it need shim washers to the the wheel doesn't move on the spindle. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Pullstart 62,972 #8 Posted November 23 That is surely some positive camber. Unless gravity has changed, I can’t see worn components working the wheel that direction. I’m with @pfrederi. Ignore it. Kev - my 854 had a bent RF spindle when I got it - must have spanked a curb - positive camber!! The "Parts Department" coughed up a suitable replacement. The idea is to slightly "crowd" the ball bearings on the spindles so that the inner races remain stationary on the spindles - only the balls & outer races revolve. I noticed when I parked it in the shed, the camber issue wasn't nearly as evident. I also drove through some mud and when I drove over a bit of dry concrete, the tread marks left from both front wheels looked even... so makes me think the tire is sitting squarely. Will keep an eye on her! I would pull that wheel and make sure you don’t have a groove worn into the underside of the spindle.
