ebinmaine 70,494 #53 Posted December 10, 2024 $255/year. Whatta buncha lightweights!!!
rjg854 11,871 #54 Posted December 10, 2024 $255 a year, I've got double that in one transmission that was rebuilt. That's not even mentioning the rest of the tractor. 4
c-series don 9,413 #55 Posted December 11, 2024 All I know is that all the money I have spent on Wheel Horse tractors, implements, memorabilia and a $14,000 shed to store them in I probably could have bought a nice muscle car for my impending mid life crisis. 🤣🤣 2 2

I’ve decided to save all my efforts for “late life delusion” and have all my fun then. I will be the first to admit I absolutely spend more than $255 per year. But it’s still a cheaper hobby than even golf or fishing, plus most of it is done right here at home. 4
Handy Don 13,321 #57 Posted December 11, 2024 I gotta figure that the survey averaged in a lot of folks who have NO hobby at all! 12 hours ago, kpinnc said: it’s still a cheaper hobby than even golf or fishing, Plenty of expensive ones. Once for a couple of years I was pursuing a sailplane (a.k.a. glider) pilots license. Then I took a sober look at what costs lay ahead to be reasonably engaged and stopped.

This little tractor has turned into quite a money pit. 150 in painting stuff, 160 in tools and another 50-100 in miscellaneous. 810 dollars roughly. Never keep track of the money spent on Wheel Horses, it ruins the fun. Even if you enrolled in a remedial math class so the numbers would add up correctly you probably don't want to know. The only mistake bigger than adding up the expenses would be sharing that useless information with your wife. 3

Easton Rich 466 #68 Posted January 2 Ok, not sure if I want to yet, but I was thinking of making this little guy into a puller or selling it when I finish it up. Should I sell it it and buy another or keep it and build it. I want to only have 2 horses at a time.

Perhaps ask a few folks who do pulling to see od the current setup as finished up would be suitable? @Achto

If you wish to have a puller, I would look for one with at least a 14hp engine, 16hp would be even better. If you wish to have only 2 tractors at a time, ( don't really under stand this statement ) Any way, I guess if a new one comes home, then one has to leave.
