@Bar Nuthin  long ago replaced the 2 lower corner , / hood frame bolts with  3/8  threaded eye bolts . good spot for a spring assist pull point , probably removed ,  two thirds of  plow lift  lever  effort , just holds it off ground . experimented with various springs , moved the  eye bolts , to their easiest , spring pull assist point , regularly experiment with an issue , make it go away . pete

I used the squeeze chain link to connect my deck chain to the eye bolt.  Most recently I modified a standard snow thrower flag to be spring assist. Heavy springs have purpose! I like the idea of eye-bolts in the front for spring assist on a plow. I need to fabricate a solid down-pressure link first - for stubborn spots.

@Bar Nuthin  like the fact that you are , looking and thinking about the issue , that spring was  about 6' long with  tapered ends , was looking for any related pictures , for you , can,t find exact name . thing I really like about it is , lift lever effort , is much easier , holds it just off ground . also going to connect those hood mount eye bolts , so there  is an equal pull , from both sides of frame front . commonality to W/H attachments , is their amazing  functional ease , with simple , connection / lubrication detailing , washers  lube , etc . garage door multi hole lift bar , is terrific , for a bolt in down pressure , cut out what ever you need , paint it black / red . be looking for related for you , glad you are on it , pete
