953 nut 55,215 #2 Posted Tuesday at 11:42 AM I think Eric @ebinmaine has done the measurements on short, medium and long frames if memory serves me correctly.
ebinmaine 67,464 #3 Posted Tuesday at 11:46 AM @gwest_ca ? @Retired Wrencher I know that 1966 and older are all short frames except for the 953 and 1054 models. 1967 is when they started the split. 867 were short. 1067 and 1267 were long. 1968 to 1973 I believe most were long. I'm not sure if they were short frames in that time. Maybe Commando?? 1974 and 1975 the B Series were mid length. 1976 and 1977 the B series were long frames. 1974 and up the C Series were all long frames. There are of course exceptions along the way such as GT14 or D series or Lawn Ranger or the 1978 and up B series which was a lawn tractor.
Lee1977 6,658 #4 Posted Tuesday at 03:20 PM The medum frame on 74 and 75 B series was 2" shorter then the long frame used on most later model tractors.

Otherwise basically identical to the older Commando. Edited Tuesday at 10:27 PM by kpinnc

So Eric:I know that 1966 and older are all short frames: So that would make the 1056 would be a short frame.

Ya know.... I forgot about that 1966 10 horse. I believe those were actually a LONG frame Gary. 8 HP was short, 10 HP was long.

After it was brought up this morning I remember reading that the 1965 model year was the only year to have a big block and a short frame. 1045 and 1055
